We’re throwing an opening event for the newly remodeled
80 year-old house in Shishigatani, Kyoto.
This project is a generous and mammoth combined effort on the part of the owner, an intermediary and the architect.
All the parties efforts have crystallized and transformed the house into one hell of a place for people to interact!
Our primary intention was not merely to just restore the house to its former glory,
but to base the entire project on maintaining the essence of the house.
The main concept in remodeling this wooden, two-story Nagaya-style house was to expand other possible functionality through considering multiple possible uses. We aimed to ensure it would encompass more than the function of an office space or residence.
